Members at FRCF are the recipients of over 100 years of combined coaching experience, which gives you the security of knowing you are in the best hands in the industry.

Community

Weekly community events. Shared Suffering. Accountability. The community at Front Range is what makes the results stick.  We are the place to be if you want to find a tribe that values consistency, excellence, and hard work. Each of us has gone on our own journey, and we’re here to hold each other accountable to our goals.

A Prescriptive Model

At Front Range, we believe in a prescriptive model. This means that from your very first meeting, we’re going to meet and personalize an approach that will work best for you. We have the coaches and expertise to offer a detailed path to your results. No one size fits all clients, and you deserve a gym that will regularly sit down and tweak your process to make sure you’re maximizing what you get out of our services. Regular goal setting meetings, check-ins, different class options, and personal training services all insure we can help you no matter what your goals are.

Professionals

Our coaches are required to be CrossFit certified and to continue their education, training and fitness as a way of life. In addition to their ability to teach technical movements, our coaches support, encourage, motivate and challenge you both mentally and physically to achieve your goals.

Diverse

Our members span a variety of athletic abilities, ages and backgrounds. All you need to be successful is a commitment to your health and fitness and a willingness to work hard. We have trained everyone: from high school athletes,  Olympic and National team athletes, NFL and NHL players, and military personnel. Adult recreational athletes, executives, moms, grandpas, and those who miss their high school or collegiate team experience all have found a home here at Front Range CrossFit. All you have to do is show up willing to work, and we will guide you from there.

Training Facility

FRCF has over 5000 sq. ft. of training space in one large room.

Equipment:
The CrossFit Gym has over 8500 pounds of weights, 10 echo bikes, 12 Concept-2 rowers, and enough kettlebells, dumbbells, strongman equipment, landmines, barbells, bumper plates, jump boxes, medicine balls, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, and open space to effectively train up to 25 athletes in a single workout. Our ceilings are 15’ high to accommodate ropes, rings and 2 pull-up structures. We are constantly improving our equipment and offerings–ensuring that our equipment remains state of the art.

We have plenty of parking right outside, and 3 huge garage doors that are open, weather permitting, to let in the crisp Colorado air. Our running routes stay off of surface streets to ensure member safety.

Our Team

Front Range CrossFit has been a CrossFit Affiliate since April, 2006.  Many of our Coaches have been CrossFitting with us from the beginning. All of our coaches have many specialty certifications and all FRCF Coaches are required to continue their coaching education and pursue fitness as a way of life.

“The level of experience the FRCF Coaches have is critical to our success as an Affiliate. I hope you will come in and experience the level of coaching that we provide.”

John San Filippo, Owner - Head Coach

Certifications:

  • CrossFit Level-1
  • Russian Kettlebell Challenge Certified Instructor
  • USOC SafeSport Trained

John discovered the sport of CrossFit as a 17-year-old by stumbling across the CrossFit Games on ESPN but wouldn’t step foot into a CrossFit gym for the first time until 5 years later.

After a high-school career that culminated in being named an All-American in wrestling, John attended Wesleyan University, where he played football and wrestled. After his collegiate athletic career was cut short by two shoulder surgeries, he was introduced to CrossFit as a workout regimen by one of his friends.

While recovering from his second surgery, he started CrossFit, and began an individualized program. The physical therapist on staff at his gym worked in conjunction with the coaches to provide him with the proper progressions and rehabilitation from his surgery to ensure that his repaired shoulders would function properly. This experience convinced him that CrossFit can play a vital role in helping overcome injuries and dysfunction to lead a more fulfilling life. It also fostered a passion for helping others experience the liberation of gaining new strength and ability through physical movement. John is excited to share that passion with the Front Range Community.

In addition to coaching responsibilities at Front Range CrossFit, John is responsible for new members and community development. He is especially motivated by helping someone learn the skills necessary to enjoy CrossFit safely. Feel free to reach out to him with feedback, ideas, comments, and questions.

When he’s not at Front Range or working out, John can be found in the mountains, on his motorcycle, or wondering how he managed to spend so much money at his local bookstore on such a short trip. He also is pursuing a competitive career in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting.
